We know we need to take care of our physical, emotional and mental well being; but how can we look after our spiritual well-being?
Self-care is not selfish or self-indulgent. We cannot nurture others from a dry well. We need to take care of our own needs first, then we can give from our surplus, our abundance.~ Jennifer Louden in The Woman’s Comfort Book
This weekend join us at Wisdom2.0 – They will be ‘live streaming’ (and recording) the many wonderful speakers – Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Here are a few ways we can nourish our spirit:
- Slow down, be quiet, do nothing
- Be still and observe your surroundings, use your senses
- Meditate or pray
- Slow stretching or Yoga or T’ai chi
- Keep a gratitude journal
- Feed your spirit with healthy foods
- Talk a walk in nature
- Volunteer at the SPCA – Dogs are a great way to experience acceptance and love
Once we have taken the time to nourish our spirit we will be able to be present and have patience with ourselves and be able to give to others:
- Practice forgiveness and compassion
- Volunteer at a hospital, school or shelter
- Have patience in frustrating situations
- Teach others how to nourish their spirit
