Cultivating Self-Love

Cultivating love in your life includes you!  One of the best ways to practice self-love is to take care of yourself – physically, emotionally and spiritually!

Loving yourself…does not mean being self-absorbed or narcissistic, or disregarding others. Rather it means welcoming yourself as the most honored guest in your own heart, a guest worthy of respect, a lovable companion. – Margo Anand

Having a tea moment is one way to take care of ourselves throughout the day – it gives us a  few moments to sit,  relax and breathe.

There are many ways to show yourself love – just giving time and attention and finding ways to ‘feed’ yourself through experience is key. What are your favourite ways to show your love to you!

Today we have a unique suggestion – how about a self-massage? It connects us to our body and is a slow and relaxing way to spend time. Our partner this week, Banyan Botanicals, has a great video to lead you through a self-massage.  Oh so relaxing – just try it to see how you feel after – warm, cosy and loved 🙂

Banyan Botanicals is a great resource for Ayurveda and premium quality Ayurvedic products made from certified organic herbs sustainably sourced and fairly traded.

Ayurvedic practices are ancient yet timeless, and give you the means of attaining and maintaining your own optimal health and wellbeing. It is a fundamental approach to well-being helping you reach your unique state of balance in your whole being—body, mind, and spirit.

Ayurveda views the world in light of 3 constitutional principles: vata, pitta, and kapha. These are explained in more detail here. We are each a unique combination though most times with one ‘dosha’ predominating. From this understanding we can find out how to balance our systems and maintain that balance and understand what is likely to put us ‘off-balance’.

The Ayurvedic wellness and healing acknowledges the unique nature of each person and situation, taking into account the individual, the season, the geography, and so on. Check their site out for many insights into Ayerveda and check out the link below to establish your ’dosha’ type and post at our blog to enter to win this fabulous prize pack.
